SUMMARY This is a weird one, so if I share a file say a picture by opening up dolphin right clicking on the image and using the share to device via kdeconnect. The file transfers normally which is pretty fast. However, if I use the applet in the systray which I normally don't, but for some reason decided to this time. I will get a notification anywhere from 3-7 minutes later saying that I received the picture. I don't know if this next part is coincidence or not, but If I go to share the picture again through the applet. I instantly get the picture on my phone after I've navigated to the directory the picture is in via the applet. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Click kdeconnect icon in systray 2. Hit the share button navigate to file to share. In my case a picture. 3. Click the open button to confirm selection. OBSERVED RESULT I receive picture after 3-7 minutes EXPECTED RESULT I receive picture instantly like when I share via dolphin. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20200513 KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.70.0 Qt Version: 5.14.1 Kernel Version: 5.6.11-1-default OS Type: 64-bit Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i7-7500U CPU @ 2.70GHz Memory: 15.4 GiB of RAM Kdeconnect android app version = 1.14.2 I'm using the kde statble repos in tumblweed the version of kdeconnect out of those repos is: 20.04.0-1.1 package name kdeconnect-kde.
Forgot to add that this is with everything up to date on tumbleweed as of the time of writing.
Sharing via gwenview is also noticeably faster.
After failing to send. Each time I try to send after that. Without pressing anything but the share button and leaving the file dialog prompt open. It will then share the last file(s) I tried to send. The weird part is it will do this over and over. No matter how many times it successfully completes sharing process.
Seems to have been fixed within newer versions of plasma.
