Description charles.davids.1999@protonmail.com 2020-05-16 00:00:59 UTC
SUMMARY - 1st ever bug report
I installed 20.04 in a VM to see what it is like and as a second enviroment to do some development work with. I selected the minimal install, let it be, and after final reboot, the Discover wanted updates. First was firefox, then LibreMath, and about 10 Libre* were marked for upgrade.
After manually changing a few things, removing discover (I hate it as it is just as anonying as MS updater. "You will shutdown now for pending update" "You don't get to control your computer"
The OS finally wouldn't reboot I swiped and started again

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Wipe and re-install, remove discover and setup muon. Reboot.
2. Muon still marked some Libre thing as a upgrade.
3. Not wanting LibreOffice, I command removed and purged

OBSERVED RESULT
LibreOffice is gone

EXPECTED RESULT
No more Libre Office

Protip, since this is your first bug report: telling the developers of a piece of software that you hate it may not be the most effective way to get them to improve it for you. :) You catch more flies with honey than vinegar etc. :)

Regardless, this is a packaging bug in Kubuntu; Discover does not actually determind what to include or remove in these updates; it's just a wrapper around what the distro's own packaging tools determine. You would want to report this issue to the Kubuntu folks. Thanks!
