Description hadmut 2020-05-13 10:32:35 UTC
Hi,

I just used the latest appimage 20.04.0b on Ubuntu 18.04 to produce a video, but had plenty of segmentation fault crashes, unfortunately not really reproducable. But always after same actions:

I had recorded a loooong video talking into the camera, with lots of flaws and retries, so it was necessary to chop the long video into lots of pieces and to drop many of them.

Same procedure: have the long video in the timeline on V1 and A1 (sometimes, but not always with some title in front on V2), then setting two cuts. Selecting the segment between the cuts, pressing the delete key to drop that segment. Select the new gap and press CTRL-< to remove the space. Most of the time this worked, but many times kdenlive crashed and terminated (twice: froze) immediately when pressing CTRL-<.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. See above, not really reproducable
2.
3.

I just used appimage 19.12.3 for further editing and didn't see a single crash of that kind.

So I'd guess that the problem came in between 19.12.3 and 20.04.0b

Thanks for reporting. Yes, using the AppImage is on the save site as it contains all dependencies.

It seems it works. We close this bug. If it still appears in the latest version, please feel free to re-open it and update the affected version number.
