SUMMARY In the account entry panel it's difficult to identify banks from their small logos in the icon combobox. It would be nice to have a tooltip for each icon in the popup menu that shows the derived bank name. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Click Accounts, click an existing account 2. Click the first field next to *Bank:*, the bank icon popup 3. Scroll through the popup menu, wonder what each bank is. OBSERVED RESULT You have to choose an icon to see what its name is in the bank name field, then click to pop up the list again to try the next. EXPECTED RESULT Two ideas: a) Have a tooltip for each icon in the popup menu. b) As you highlight each icon in the popup menu, the bank name could appear in the bank name field. The trick is if you dismiss without choosing anything, the bank name field should revert. Maybe after you've chosen an icon, the tooltip for this field could change to "Icon of the bank (american express)" in case you've changed the bank name field. Hi, Do you know that if you choose a bank icon and you use the key up or key down then you will be able to see the bank name associated to the selected icon? Is it acceptable for you?
(In reply to Stephane MANKOWSKI from comment #1) > Do you know that if you choose a bank icon and you use the key up or key > down then you will be able to see the bank name associated to the selected > icon? No I didn't. I was using the mouse and up and down arrows in the pop-up menu while the pop-up menu is up, not after choosing an icon. This method is obvious once I realized the bank icon field responds to cursor motion keys while it is highlighted. > Is it acceptable for you? I think so. Tooltips might be more discoverable, but this is low priority. Thanks!
It's possible to set a tooltip on a widget but not on an item of a list. Tooltips takes time to be display. My proposal is accepted. So, I prefer to close this request.
