The Ctrl+Alt+T shortcut is bound to Konsole specifically, not the current default terminal app. There isn't (currently) a way to have a shortcut launch the default app for something, whatever it is. Shortcuts have to launch specific apps. Feel free to file a bug in frameworks-kglobalaccel requesting this. I didn't transform this bug report into that and move it because it seems too different. :)
