Created attachment 128334 [details] Illustration of the texture problem SUMMARY When using a brush with a texture ( especially one that imitates a surface like canvas or laid paper), the texture should NOT scale with the brush, it should always remain the scale that was set in the options. There are two good reasons, firstly for realism and secondly for a consistent textural resolution. Just like when you paint on a real canvas, as you get a larger brush, the canvas remains the same. Please just add a checkbox that gives the option ' independent texture scale' or some such. That would cover the existing method but add the ( more correctly) natural look of a texture that does not scale and remains a consistent background texture. Thanks for listen Krita is SOOOO great! I'm setting this to wish now, since it's a feature request. You might want to check out https://docs.krita.org/en/untranslatable_pages/new_features.html which explains how new features are designed and developed in Krita.
I believe you're mistaking texture with brush tip. If you change the brush tip to simple circle in the brush you're using, you'll see that the texture is not scaling with the size of the brush. It means that the effect you were seeing was the effect of the brush, not the texture itself. So, to sum up: if you want the effect to be not scaled, it needs to be a part of the texture itself (and added to the brush preset in Texture -> Pattern). If you want the effect to be scaled, you can just use a Predefined Brush Tip (Brush Editor -> Brush Tip). The brush you're showing uses both: Predefined Brush Tip *and* Texture, so the effect you're seeing that does scale is probably an effect that comes from using the Predefined Brush Tip, not the Texture. You can see an actual Texture not-scaling in brush preset called "Texture Reptile". Also in addition to what Boudewijn wrote, best places to make feature requests are krita-artists.org (which is much more user-friendly and user-oriented than this website) or the old KDE Krita forum: https://forum.kde.org/viewforum.php?f=136
