SUMMARY Although the title bar buttons are inside the windows, I think they are mostly controls. So the "Titlebar buttons" tab should be moved outside of the "Look and feel -> Windows decoration" module, imho. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. 2. 3. OBSERVED RESULT It's no obvious for all to find "controls" in the "Look and feel" section. EXPECTED RESULT This tab should be moved elsewhere, maybe in Workspace -> Window Management. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.69 Qt Version: 5.14.1
Hmm, maybe you're using an old version or there's a bad translation? These settings are currently in Application Style > Window Decorations; there is no longer anything visible in the System Settings UI called "Look and feel".
Created attachment 128177 [details] Window decoration Yes, sorry, it's "Appearance" :). I just wanna say that "Titlebar buttons" are not "Decoration", imho. So I think this tab should be moved.
Could it move to "Window Behavior" ?
Yes, I think it would be more obvious :) .(In reply to Hugo Pereira Da Costa from comment #3) > Could it move to "Window Behavior" ?
Yeah, the phrase "Window Decorations" is an implementation detail leaking into the UI. The average user doesn't piece together that the titlebar is a thing drawn by the window manager and not technically a part of the window itself. Perhaps we should either collapse this KCM into the "Application Style" KCM (because windows are a part of applications), or else put it somewhere in "Window Management" (because window decorations are a part of windows). Or maybe something else. Either way, we already have a Phab task about re-organizing KCMs: https://phabricator.kde.org/T8871 Let's continue the discussion there.
Some decorations don't respect the button configuration.
