ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Comment 1 Urs Fleisch 2020-05-04 06:08:34 UTC
Thanks for the report. Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce it on my Windows 10 system - however, I do not run a prerelease there, just 1909. I experienced a similar behavior using wine64 on Linux.

Nevertheless, I tried to fixed the issue by building the 64-bit Windows version of Kid3 using the latest long term support release of Qt, which now officially support MinGW 64-bit, so I no longer have to build Qt myself. So with an official and current Qt release, I hope that the problem is fixed - at least in wine64 and Windows 10 1909 it worked OK.

Could you please check if the issue is fixed by testing the latest win32-x64.zip from https://sourceforge.net/projects/kid3/files/kid3/development/ ?
Comment 2 Urs Fleisch 2020-05-10 07:50:18 UTC
The probable fix is now also in the official release 3.8.3.
Comment 3 Urs Fleisch 2020-05-26 18:21:10 UTC
After no reaction for more than 3 weeks and more the 1700 downloads of kid3-3.8.3-win32-x64.zip without any complaint, I consider this bug as fixed.

Do you mean kid3-3.8.3-win32, or does it have the issue?

Could you please check if https://sourceforge.net/projects/kid3/files/kid3/development/kid3-winbuild-git20200613-win64.zip/download is working? If have built it from Windows and it would be interesting to know if the issue does only happen with cross compiled binaries.

Comment 10 Urs Fleisch 2020-06-15 17:29:18 UTC
Thanks for testing. As I would like to continue building everything from Linux, here is another package to test:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/kid3/files/kid3/development/kid3-linbuild-git20200615-win32-x64.zip/download

This time, I have built everything from Linux, but then replaced the basic libraries libgcc_s_seh-1.dll, libstdc++-6.dll, libwinpthread-1.dll, so that the ones from the cross buildchain (Ubuntu 18.04) are used instead of those from Qt. Maybe there is some incompatibility although they have the same version number. On my system, it was running OK.

I have received a similar bug report and fixed it, see https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=433690. Could you please check if kid3-git20210228-win32-x64.zip from https://sourceforge.net/projects/kid3/files/kid3/development/ fixes your problem?
