SUMMARY

After I freshly install Parrot KDE home edition, I added several widgets on the desktop and found that there are ways too many so I removed some of them. Once I reached the last 2-3 widgets, didn't matter which one, the desktop window screen went black I thought my computer was turn off or battery had die, but it didn't. I can move my mouse around, but can't click anything. Well, nothing to see and click. Right click not functional. I can still use terminal from keyboard shortcut and can run any apps from terminal so I am going to assume that keyboard shortcut function work fine. I haven't set up or checked any other apps keyboard shortcuts beside the default terminal shortcut that luckily is the same as the OS I used before I changed to this one. Also, once I minimized firefox and switched to use terminal, I can't come back to the minimized window without killing it from terminal and start it up from there again. So, switching window does not function during the black screen.

Everything seems OK after I turn off and on again. The desktop windows appeared along with all the widgets before I start to remove any (I want to remove them because they covered all the background.). Same thing repeat every time I removed the widgets until 2-3 are left.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install Parrot Home KDE on my laptop
2. Add lots of widgets
3. Attempt to remove all of them but the screen went black when there are 2-3 widgets left.
4. Turn off and on again
5. Desktop shows up normally along with all those widgets.

OBSERVED RESULT
Once I start removing the widgets, step 3 happened.

EXPECTED RESULT
All the widgets are removed and the desktop window remains there.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This is my first time using Parrot Home as my main desktop and and also first time using KDE so the widgets I have added was the result of me learning to navigate it.

It looks like you are hitting an old bug where the desktop shell just crashed when you removed widgets. Parrot OS 4.9 got released in the meantime, and offers a newer Plasma version.
