Description goo 2020-04-17 17:37:29 UTC
SUMMARY

Some notifications don't disappear automatically, sometimes piling up over the notification area.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Notifications - System Settings Module
2. untick "Always keep on top" from Critical notifications
3. wait for notifications

OBSERVED RESULT
Some notifications, i.e. software updates notifications or errors from ktp modules, keep staying on top without hiding themselves.

EXPECTED RESULT
Notifications should hide themselves after the configured timeout.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora 31
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.69
Qt Version: 5.13.2

I don't understand how the "always keep on top" part is relevant to the rest of the bug report. Does that make a difference?

Note that applications can specify the timeout period, including marking themselves as not expiring.
