I have several suggestions related to Investments and Investment accounts:

I live in the US and we have a tax regulation that investment mutual funds MUST make distributions each year to their fund holders of the funds captial gains.
I can track these distributions in KMyMoney but it is awkward. The only way to do it currently is to select the DIVIDEND action and set the INTEREST box to my Long Term Capital Gain or Short Term Capital Gain category. Running the standard investment transactions report then shows the actions for these transactions as "Dividends" which is technically incorrect for tax purposes and also shows a zero amount transfer to the security. I can run a category report that shows the correct transactions, but I can only get a category total. I can't get the necessary security or account total.

SUGGESTION: Create additional actions for LONG TERM CG DISTRIBUTION and SHORT TERM CG DISTRIBUTION. I would also be very helpful if these new actions as well as the DIVIDEND action could get the option of assigning default categories.

I used to use Quicken Premier and it had a much more elegant dialog for entering these transactions, where dividends and LT and ST CG's could all be entered in a single transaction.

My second suggestion is how you handle the cash (brokerage) accounts associated with investment accounts. My investment accounts are segregated by my broker into separate trading accounts by investment type all linked to a single cash account. So I have a mutual funds account, an ETF funds account, a stock account and foreign currency stock accounts. It would be helpful to be able to have money transactions in any of those accounts link to a single cash account.

SUGGESTION: Allow investment accounts in the account hierarchy to be placed below a cash (brokerage) account and have the cash account for those investment accounts default to the higher cash account. A second option would be in the account details dialog, to offer the option of setting a default linked cash account.

Basically, it is tedious to keep entering account and category information that never changes with investments. I would like to be able to set a default category for FEES, DIVIDENDS, INTEREST, (a new Short Term CG, Long Term CG) and a linked cash account for every investment account.
