Description Tony Sesek 2020-04-11 20:22:39 UTC
SUMMARY

Unable to send links to connected Android 10 device without bringing the app to the foreground first.

NOTES

KDE Connect has been set to never sleep (battery management will not affect it)

Tested on a Samsung Galaxy S9+ and S20+

I believe the issue also appeared on a Google Pixel 1, but I do not have the device any longer.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Pair phone to PC
2. Go to home screen, and wait for ~30 seconds. (This lets the app leave the foreground)
3. Send a link via Firefox Right Click -> Plasma Integration -> Send to "<device_name>"

OBSERVED RESULT

Phone does not react in anyway

EXPECTED RESULT

Link would open in browser/respective app.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux: 5.6 (also happened on 5.4/5.5)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.68.0
Qt Version: 5.14.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I know the device still has a stable connection to the Host PC, as notifications are still sent to the PC, and I am able to send files, pings, etc. Just not links.

Cannot reproduce it with given steps. Tried it on Firefox v78.0.2 with stock Android 10.
