SUMMARY

Kate icon error opening in Dolphin File Fanager.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. In Dolphin navigator, go to a "txt" file and select "Open With" option using the right click of mouse.

OBSERVED RESULT

1. When the "Open With" popup appears, the Kate icon is the same icon of KWrite;
2. Focus the "Kate" option and the icon changes to correct icon.

EXPECTED RESULT

1. When the "Open With" popup appears, the Kate icon must be the correct icon.

Sounds like an icon cache issue to me. If you delete ~/.cache/icon-cache.kcache and try again, does it still happen? If not, this is Bug 403229.

Ok, the Kate really has been updated in a new version with a new icon, probably it is was the problem and your solution fixed the problem here, thanks.
