SUMMARY Firefox Developer Edition launcher has the correct (blue) icon. Using alt-tab, or in Ksysguard, icon used is the orange one of Firefox Release. Preview of task switcher in systemsettings (kwintabbox) uses the correct icon. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Launch Firefox Developer Edition 2. Use alt-tab OBSERVED RESULT Alt-tab switcher uses the icon of Firefox Release for Firefox Developer Edition windows. EXPECTED RESULT Alt-tab switcher uses the correct icon. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.68.0 Qt Version: 5.14.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This was working not long ago but I don’t remember which version.

I still have this problem, it doesn’t always happen but often. Right now I tested changing the task switcher and I still have the same problem. I tried the preview of the task switcher in System Settings (Window Management → Task Switcher) and there it displays the right icon. I tried rebooting my computer and launching Firefox Developer Edition right after entering my session, and the icon is wrong… Note that I have both Firefox Release and Firefox Developer Edition installed and that I use default (breeze) icons.
This issue report is quite old. Can you please confirm, that it still persists with KDE 5.23?
Still happening from time to time with the following configuration: KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.88.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2
