Transparent PNG

Transparent PNGs are not supported. The output color is white. I'm attaching a sample.

Sorry for using v17. It's the latest available in the Ubuntu repos.

Im general kolourpaint works fine with transparency.
However playing with your image leads to some strange results which I have no idea where it comes from. What I find when saving, loading, saving again, I get an error from libpng:
libpng error: profile 'Custom': C0361846h: length does not match profile

So it seems to me it has something to do with your PNG image.
Just resizing the image by 1 pixel and saving it again removes the problem.
What is the source of your image ?
