SUMMARY After the latest update any mouse-wheel action on the desktop wallpaper stopped working. I have set this to switch activities, but none of the other available actions (like switching windows) works either. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Right-click wallpaper -> Configure Desktop 2. Click Mouse Actions in the sidebar 3. Add a vertical scroll action OBSERVED RESULT Nothing happens. EXPECTED RESULT Trigger the action as it used to.
I can confirm this issue. Mouse scroll wheel does not work on the desktop for the default action of switching desktops or other actions I've tried. I have had this issue on all of my Plasma setups since some Plasma update not too long ago.
I can also confirm this issue. It has been like this for me for a couple of months now. Unable to recall exactly which version problem started with. Could have been 5.18.x. Currently running 5.19.4 on Arch Linux. Same problem with latest KDE Neon. I tried fixing issue with a new clean home directory. Hoping this was an issue related to configuration files. Unfortunately this did not help. Tested with a new (test) user account but issue persists.
I've just realized this is only happening when the "Folder" layout is activated. Switching to the "Desktop" layout resolves makes the wheel action work again.
I can confirm that mouse wheel on folder view desktop does not switch the desktop. (It is configured to do this certainly.) Switching to "Desktop" instead of "Folder view" makes the mouse wheel work again. Operating System: Kubuntu 21.10 KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.88.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2

When switched to "desktop" layout wheel works fine for switching desktops, in "desktop" layout it is not working. Switching back and forth dosn't resolve this issue. It might be, though, some simple rc problem since I've upgraded from Ubuntu 20.04 LTS to Ubuntu 22.04 LTS and got this problem.
