SUMMARY Gwenview takes c.a 15 seconds to open any image in a symlinked folder (e.g. Downloads, Documents) if the application runs with the %U argument (it's on by default on Manjaro). Deleting the %U argument fixes all the issues I have with Gwenview. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1a. Open an image using Gwenview from the Dolphin file manager in a symlinked folder. 1b. Alternatively, open Gwenview from the Plasma start menu. OBSERVED RESULT Gwenview doesn't respond for c.a 15 seconds when opening an image from the symlinked directory. EXPECTED RESULT Gwenview should open almost immediately. This is what in fact happens when removing the %U argument on my machine. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Manjaro Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.68.0 Qt Version: 5.14.1 Kernel Version: 5.4.28-1-MANJARO OS Type: 64-bit Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz Memory: 5,7 GiB ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I did also encounter the exact same bug running Kubuntu 19.10, but have only now managed to fix it by removing the %U argument from the exec command.
Thank you for the bug report. Unfortunately we were not able to get to it yet. Can we ask you to please check if this is still an issue with Gwenview 25.08.0 (the latest released version)?
