Demonstration of the image editor bug.

SUMMARY
Image editor is not displayed when opened after editing an image.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Edit an image using the image editor.
2. Close the editor window.
3. Open another editor window.

OBSERVED RESULT
The editor window opens, but the content is not displayed.

EXPECTED RESULT
Usual image editor appears.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: 
macOS: 
Linux/KDE Plasma: Kubuntu 19.10.
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.16.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.62.0
Qt Version: 5.12.4

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The image editor can be opened again by shutting the program down and
running it again. The bug, however, appears again after using the image
editor once.

I think the bug is already 2 years old. Why can't *buntu deliver current software?

Alternatively, you can use the AppImage from www.digikam.org.

Thank you for your suggestion. I read the bug 395875 thread that you mentioned. I guess I have to use a newer version of this program. Again, thanks a lot for your contribution to this bug!
