Description jonathan.hausam 2020-03-31 13:09:09 UTC
SUMMARY
It's completely random. sometimes my video won't render, sometimes kdenlive freezes and crashes (happenes mostly when I am editing a video longer than 40 mins.) As someone who edits videos regularly, I love kdenlive, but it's just becoming un-useble. I can't really give you details on how to reproduce it, as I don't have much. Also, the buttons to change title text color just doesn't work. not only is it the UI, as said above, it's also video display and export.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. edit a video longer than 40 mins, maybe?
2. use debian 10.3
3. use Gnome desktop

OBSERVED RESULT
as said above

EXPECTED RESULT
A working video editor.

One comment more - random unpredictable crashes *under heavy load* are often a sign of CPU and/or memory problems. If you can find a specific sequence of events which always causes the problem then it's likely a software problem. If you can't then it's most likely (but not always) a problem with your own hardware.

There are a bunch of memory and hardware testing tools that you can use to check your hardware. You can also try doing the same editing on someone else's hardware. This should help you confirm where the issue comes from.
