SUMMARY Frequently during drawing, krita freezes up. Occasionally it returns to normal, but only to freeze again later. Eventually the program crashes, or stays stuck in a permanent freeze where I can't click anything on my laptop and have to switch it off and restart. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Start drawing. I was drawing over an image, but it was a very small sized one, so it certainly didn't take up too much memory. 2. The onscreen cursor stops working and freezes in place. 3. It might start being movable again after a bit, or the cursor might change to a constant loading symbol. Crashes are possible at any time throughout this. OBSERVED RESULT Program is difficult to use, and loses work if you don't deliberately save every minute. Sometimes my whole computer freezes up and the fan starts working overtime. My computer doesn't freeze up when using any other application. EXPECTED RESULT For the program to not freeze up and/or crash. Hi Tabitha, Thanks for your report, and for immediately giving lots of useful information. Even though you only have 4gb of memory, your images are small, so that cannot be the problem. We have other users on macOS, and we hear of other macOS specific problems, I haven't heard of this one. It looks like your mac is a 2015 macbook air, is that right? Have you used older versions of Krita that did not hang for you? In other words, did this start happening when you updated to 4.2.9? If you disable opengl in Krita's settings, does the problem go away?

This has resolved it, and it doesn't crash any more. Thank you.
