SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Whenever I invoke a shortcut/replacement via the text replacement/keyboard hotkey modifier program AutoKey from a KDE application, the program looses focuses. Many people seem to have [this issue and it has been reported to Autokey](https://github.com/autokey/autokey/issues/169#issuecomment-455200231), but they have indicated it is an upstream issue with KDE. Further, that thread indicates this is an issue with running any type of scrip in KDE causing the frontmost app to lose focus, not just Autokey scrips. Can you please help fix this? There are more details in that [GitHub issues page thread](https://github.com/autokey/autokey/issues/169#issuecomment-455200231).
This is especially an issue for application like KRunner, where if I try to run a keyboard shortcut in (eg: I have emacs style shortcuts in it to remap ctrl+n to down) to select the next item, it causes KRunner to disappear entirely, and I have to start my search over again. Thanks so much!!

>(eg: I have emacs style shortcuts in it to remap ctrl+n to down) to select the next item, it causes KRunner to disappear entirely

There is no need to run external tools to do that. See the shortcuts->standard shortcuts

As for the rest, I read through the linked github ticket.

>After some package downgrading tests, I figured out xorg-server 1.20 is the culprit.

I'm not spending any time on the plasma side unless someone can say what we're doing wrong. If you can provide that, please reopen.
