Description Audrey 2020-03-23 17:08:48 UTC
SUMMARY
I cannot draw on the canvas in Krita because my cursor disappears when placed over the canvas surface. The pen and mouse are functional in the side bars of Krita and in all other areas of the screen, but are rejected by the canvas.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Krita 4.2.8 on Windows 10 OS
2. Attempt to draw on canvas with Wacom pen OR computer mouse
3. :(

OBSERVED RESULT
Canvas in Krita fails to recognize Wacom pen or computer mouse. Any marks that are drawn either fail to appear or take several minutes of lag to appear. The cursor disappears when passed over the canvas (My settings are such that I should see an outline of my brush). If an outline of my brush does appear, it remains frozen over the canvas and is not functional. This is not fixed by restarting the computer or the program.

EXPECTED RESULT
Ability to draw on Krita canvas using cursors.

I think this is a krita bug, not a bug by kde-wacomtablet…
Comment 2 Tricia 2020-05-08 20:35:48 UTC
I have been facing this problem too. Using my wacom pen Krita produces several seconds of lag or will not recognise several strokes. Even if I move slowly I still have this problem. This started about a week ago, and it is not a problem I have in Sketchable.

Audrey, does it help when you go to Settings -> Configure Krita -> Display -> Canvas Acceleration and there set the Renderer from OpenGL to Angle (or vice versa) and restart Krita?

Tricia, this sounds like a different problem. If something suddenly stops working it's likely you got an operating system update that messed up your tablet driver. Try reinstalling the driver. If you have any more issues, ask in krita-artists.org first, since this is not a user support platform.
