Description bk 2020-03-16 17:36:54 UTC
SUMMARY
Ligatures do not work in kfontview (neither in standalone mode nor as part of systemsettings font management).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Download a font with obvious ligatures, like Fira Code
2. Load it in kfontview
3. Edit the preview text to include character sequences that should ligaturize

OBSERVED RESULT
The characters remain obstinately separate.

EXPECTED RESULT
The characters should merge into ligatures.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: SUSE Tumbleweed
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.67.0
Qt Version: 5.14.1

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The ligatures are known to be working because they display correctly in Konsole and various other programs. However, being able to use kfontview and its "reload font" button would be a great help when developing ligatures!
