I think it could be made more clearer and easier to find the right setting by e.g. adding horizontal lines and / or an alternating background to separate sections from another.

I find this particularly nice because it allows to avoid multiline names and makes for better use of right screen space, in addition to the pleasing column lineup. +1

As far as I am informed, the icon view is going to be removed in Plasma 6. Therefore, closing this report.
