I wanted to disable Caps Lock on my keyboard and quickly found the keyboard setting in System Settings under Input Devices. So far so good.

The change however wasn't applied and it took me a while to discover that my Keyboard Daemon was disabled. I don't know why (I may have done this in the past in an attempt to save resources) so it would have been nice to see a warning in the keyboard settings dialog that explains that settings won't take effect until this daemon is enabled again?

I'm not the only one so I was happy someone documented their findings:

We removed the UI to disable important services.
