I believe that this has been fixed already. At least, there was a performance problem before and it has been fixed in 19.12.1 version.

What do you see and how much time does it take ?

Now I use 19.12.3 and the slow animation is always persistent, see my attached video.

I think your website can't read the uploaded video here is link to the video on vimeo. The video recorder (SimpleScreenRecorder) I use can't capture all the slow animation, I don't know if you know any alternative I can use to record the slow for you.

Hmm, I don't see this in the git master version (which is still mostly the same as 20.04). Could you check again with 20.04 once it's released in a few days?

I will try ;)

Today I upgraded to 20.4.0 and in total the slowness animation is gone, but there is slight slowness in the action of maximizing (2 to 3 seconds of waiting to be able to see the album picture maximized), the minimize action is good and fast. In general there is big enhancement in Elisa speed with this version.

I'm on Solus Plasma edition. kernel 5.6.18-156
Plasma version: 5.19.3
Frameworks: 5.72.0
Qt version: 5.14.2

I'm having the same poor performance when toggling maximise/minimise.
It's very choppy. Uses 4 or 5 frames over the space of 3sec.

Still slow for me even on modern hardware, albeit with a 4k screen and underpowered Intel integrated graphics. Seems like this is a very graphically intensive animation.
