Created attachment 126704 [details] Example of 512 x 512 Inner Shadow artifacts I can confirm this for the 4.2.8 and 4.2.9 beta appimages but it does not happen with a recent (Mar 02) 4.3.0 prealpha appimage. I attach two example .kra files that show this and a screenshot that has a particular artifact pattern. Can you download and use the 4.3.0 prealpha Windows portable .zip package from here: https://binary-factory.kde.org/job/Krita_Nightly_Windows_Build/ and see if you still have the problem? (It is not recommended that you use this nightly prealpha build for normal daily use.) The artifacts can only be removed by turning off the paint layer and the background layer, then they return if the paint layer with Fx active is turned back on. They can be different each time you do this and each time you Save and Close and then re-Open the .kra file.
I downloaded the portable version (krita-nightly-x64-v4.3.0-prealpha-1296-gb1637fee3a.zip). It does not contain a bug. Thanks a lot. I will wait for the next release.
Setting to fixed, then.
In 4.3 was fixed, but not in 4.2.9. Will in 4.2.9 bug be fixed?
Please do not reopen bugs that are marked fixed. We consider a bug fixed when it's fixed in master. We're currently in beta for 4.2.9 and will only add fixes for clear regressions.
I've checked. The fix for the bug was a part of big refactoring for Layer Styles, which changes their behavior. So we cannot backport it to 4.2.
