Description Nicholas 2020-03-08 19:37:03 UTC
I am unable to type Portuguese characters such as á or ç using compose key. Compose key works in other apps.

I use Unity on Ubuntu but in effort to resolve this problem i installed Plasma via kubuntu-desktop package and went in to the KDE settings to set the compose key to caps lock, same as I have it set in Unity I noticed when I run the KDE settings from Unity the keyboard is not one of the input devices but it is there when doing from a Plasma session. Compose key does work in other KDE apps such as Konqueror, whether running in Unity or Plasma. Compose key does not work in Parley regardless of whether run in a Unity or Plasma session.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. in Parley lesson, try to answer question containing accented character, eg: "básico"

OBSERVED RESULT
the compose key has no effect: i try to type básico but i get b'asico

EXPECTED RESULT
básico!

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Please note that I since realised I had both the snap parley app as well as the .deb from apt installed. The problem I reported is only happening in the snap version of the app. I removed the snap and am able to use compose key in the .deb package from the Ubuntu repository.
