Description Kirill Kustov 2020-03-08 07:12:24 UTC
SUMMARY
When I create it from the paint layer through converting to the local selection mask it is not marked by the selection tool, but there is it here and I can draw in the mask. But I can not see the edge of the mask.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a new document.
2. Create two layers (Layer # 1, Layer # 2)
3. Draw white square at Layer # 2.
4. Convert Layer # 2 to Selection Mask and move it to Layer # 1.
5. Switch to Layer # 1.

OBSERVED RESULT
The local selection mask (Layer # 2) is not marked by the selection tool at Layer # 1.

EXPECTED RESULT
The local selection mask (Layer # 2) is marked by the selection tool at Layer # 1. Must be select square which I have drawn at Layer # 2.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: Windows 10

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
If I draw at Layer # 1 there is square here but I can not see edge 'cause Selection Tool is not visible.
When I create a local selection mask from the selection tool (not paint layer) it's all right.

I can confirm this: you get no ants when you create a local selection mask that way and activate the selection mask. The selection mask works, however, even if you can't see its outline. Once you close the document and re-open it, the ants show up as they should.

This reminds me of the first version of the "split to local selection masks" feature, which also had the issue of no ants showing up. My guess is that whatever confifu did to fix that should also work here?

Testing further with the krita-4.2.9-beta1-8e62bc9-x86_64 appimage, the issue seems to be fixed, so I'm closing this bug. Ants work as expected there.

Kirill, you can try this with the Krita Plus version from the download section of the krita.org website.

I am glad that this bug was fixed.
Bur sorry I don't like alpha, beta, etc.
If you are not against, I'll wait for the next release.
Thanks a lot.

I downloaded the portable version. The bug was fixed.
Thanks a lot again.

One question if I can. Do you have an especially dates for the next releases or it publishes when you finish current development?

The 4.2.9 beta just came out Monday. The plan is to have a two week testing period and release soon after.
