SUMMARY Usually kmail retrieve mails from many accounts (4) when clicking on the import mail knob (menu) and that's it ! But since few days, i have to enter these many accounts passwords each time i want to retrieve mails ! It's like kmail can't anymore retains the passwords (?) ! STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. launch kmail 2. Click "Relever le courrier" (scan and import mails) 3. Then have to enter each account's password OBSERVED RESULT many box dialog invites you to enter password EXPECTED RESULT Show imported mail in the main kmail window ("Boite de Réception") SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.5.5 KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: 5.5.1 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The version of kmail is 5.1.3 not 5.7.3 (mandatory to choose one on the version box)
I'm on Kubuntu 16.04 LTS 4.4.0-174-generic
Now, there's only one (have four on kmail) email address concerned by the password login, always the same, and the password (selected) is already in the box window, just have to confirm (?) ! For a long time i was not able to send messages until i saw that in kmail > configuration > counts > send > select the smtp send count (by default) "server ask for authentication" was not selected and the boxes were not filled ! After regularize that, i could send messages ! Many years i'm using kmail and i don't understand why all these issues, why authentication field had change "without" any intervention of us on kmail ! I don't know if it is a bug or else !
"...and the password (selected) is already in the box window,..." I've just experience empty login on the same email address when wanted to scan mails ! So the password is some time suggested and other time not !
