SUMMARY Without warning, some of the default Konsole "ctrl" shortcuts stropped functioning. I was trying to split views with "ctrl + (" or "ctrl + )" and it just didn't work. I tried other shortcuts like "ctrl + C" "ctrl + X" "ctrl + D" and also they stopped working while "ctrl + P", "ctrl + K", "ctrl + M" for example worked. I tried to override the shortcuts with different ones, it worked only if I use something other than ctrl. Also tried defaulting to the system shortcuts, reverted to an old snapshot, uninstalled konsole and reinstall ... all didn't work for me. I didn't have any system update for month, so I am not sure what could cause the problem. STEPS TO REPRODUCE No idea how it came in the first place, don't know how to reproduce. 1. 2. 3. OBSERVED RESULT ctrl+( -> nothing happens ctrl+C -> running shell app still runs without termination EXPECTED RESULT ctrl+( -> split konsole window ctrl+C -> terminate running shell command ctrl+X -> terminate running shell command SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: OpenSuse Tumbleweed 5.3.12-1-default 2019216 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.17.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.64.0 Qt Version: 5.13.1 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This is working properly in Archlinux Konsole version: 20.04.2 KDE Plasma Version: 5.19.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.70.0 Qt Version: 5.15.0
Lari, can you confirm it works on recent Tumbleweed installations?
On a fresh install or the latest release, it works fine. Every time this happened would be very random. Not sure if it has to do with keyboard layout falling or the language... But since the post I haven't had the issue, but in the past it happened 3 times.
Thanks for the update! Let's assume it is fixed. If it ever happens again, please re-open this ticket.
