SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install Kdenlive under Ubuntu 19.10.
2. Try to Capturing Audio (Dubbing).

OBSERVED RESULT
Found that list of capturing device is empty with remark: "Make sure you have audio plugins installed on your system".

EXPECTED RESULT
Other programs like "SimpleScreenRecorder" work perfect with record audio from my laptop and microphone. I expected Kdenlive to record sound from the microphone without any problems.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Ubuntu Linux: 19.10;
KDE Frameworks 5.62.0;
Qt 5.12.4.

Please try with the current Kdenlive AppImage version 19.12.2c to see if there are any packaging issues https://files.kde.org/kdenlive/release/

If the problem/issue doesn't occur when using the AppImage, then it's your configuration or packaging.

It was necessary to install the package "libqt5multimedia5-plugins". It is necessary that this package is automatically installed along with other dependencies, otherwise you can lose a lot of time until find a solution to the problem.

I think this is a bug.

This seems to be a packaging issue. Do you have tested with the AppImage?
Comment 4 eronex 2020-02-23 19:30:50 UTC
Yes, it is a packaging issue. "kdenlive-19.12.2-x86_64.appimage" work fine.
Comment 5 emohr 2020-02-23 19:56:03 UTC
Please raise a bug with the packager. Kdenlive doesn't package for the OS.
