Description Achim Bohnet 2020-02-22 11:04:39 UTC
SUMMARY: With Plasma 5.18 'Next' replaced the 'Ice Cold' as default wallpaper.

I what to change the default wallpaper to e.g. Kite. The wallpager type image
does not allow to set a 'default' wallpaper that is used for all external monitors/TVs/beamers.

The image wallpaper plugin misses a 'Favorite' or 'default' marker for a
selected wallpaper.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set the wall pager a laptop to a new image (RMB -> configre desktop -> wallpaper)
2. connect any external monitor / TV or beamer

OBSERVED RESULT
New monitor used Kite as wallpaper

EXPECTED RESULT
My selected wallpaper is also used for all monitor / TVs / beamers as their wallpaper

Please report future bugs in the style of the problem you are facing, rather than proposing a solution that solves that, it helps us work out which technical solutions fit best especially when we factor in other requests.

I'm not sure whether we actually want to do this, or clone the existing desktop containment on connection of a new monitor.
Comment 3 Nate Graham 2020-02-24 05:27:54 UTC
Not sure about the whole containment, but could we just clone the existing desktop containment's wallpaper?
