SUMMARY When trying to open a djvu file in a folder with an accented character in tis name (such as à, è, é, ì, ò, ù) okular gives an error. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Create a folder with such a character in its name (e.g. università, the italian for university) 2. save a .djvu file in the folder 3. Try opening the file OBSERVED RESULT The first time I try opening the file I get the following error "Could not open file:///home/andrea/Desktop/università/Spiral out/Keep going/Profinite groups - Wilson, John S.djvu". The second time I try opening the file I get no error dialog, but okular loads only the first page of the file. If I try opening the file a third time it gets open in its entirety EXPECTED RESULT The file should get opened (in its entirety) on the first attempt SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: linux 5.5 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.67.0 Qt Version: 5.14.1 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I'm not really sure I can share my djvu files, even though it didn't seem to depend on the specific file I tried to open. When filing the bug report, I chose "djvu backend" for the component because this problem does not happen with the same files, when converted to pdf, so I thought it was specific to the djvu component in okular.
okular okularfiles/djvu/università/Profinite\ groups\ -\ Wilson\,\ John\ S.djvu works just fine for me, are you sure it's not that particular file? Can you try downloading other djvu files and see if you have the same problem?
(In reply to Albert Astals Cid from comment #1) > okular okularfiles/djvu/università/Profinite\ groups\ -\ Wilson\,\ John\ > S.djvu > > works just fine for me, are you sure it's not that particular file? Can you > try downloading other djvu files and see if you have the same problem? I just realized I forgot to mention I was trying to open the files from dolphin. In fact, following your comment, I just tried to open the files from the command line and it works with no problem. I am quite new here, what should I do with the bug report? Close it and create a new one for dolphin?
The thing is, clicking from it in Dolphin also works for me :/ And i'm also using Archlinux so we're basically using the same packages. You can try opening a dolphin bug and linking to this one in case someone on their side has more idea of what may be wrong making it for me but not you, or maybe they can even reproduce
