SUMMARY Closing an app in overview mode force exits out of this mode plus it generates randomly some weird window layer bugs. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Update to Plasma 5.18.0 2. Open a few app windows. 3. Trigger an overview mode 4. Close an app from overview mode (find and click on X button) OBSERVED RESULT Overview mode ends abruptly instead continuing. Additionally, it creates some weird buggy effects: - once it blocked FF on a top layer without activating "keep window on top" and I wasn't able to use any other apps because they keep stacking below, "keep window on top" was useless against that, I had to close and open the app to fix it - once it also blocked the window (Spotify), I couldn't minimize it or move to another screen, but when I used Minimize All, it fixed this issue. EXPECTED RESULT When closing an app in overview mode, overview mode should stay as it was always in the past. This way overview mode is an excellent way to selectively mass close open windows.
