I have a hidden, centered panel that is not maximized. It contains only the task manager and so resizes when new windows are opened or closed. I find it jarring that the panel resizes only once it is unhidden and would prefer that it resize even while hidden so that when it is revealed, it doesn't suddenly grow or shrink.
This actually seems to be a problem with the task manager widget, as it doesn't happen when I use the icon-only task manager.
I was wrong: happens with icon-only task manager as well. However, there was a period where it was not resizing only when unhidden, so the problem's not always reproducible, but is often reproducible.
With Plasma 5.26.1, the panel always resizes for me, even when hidden. Do you still have this issue?
