SUMMARY
...and uses 100% of one CPU. Slow means reaction time for anything (even stuff like highlights on mouse hover) is >1s. CPU usage and speed goes back to normal when "discovery" finishes.

How big is your library, and are you using Baloo? I don't see any UI lags during initial scanning with my 17 Gb library (about 4000 songs) that's indexed with Baloo.

It's about 30GB, it should be indexed. I forgot to add, it only happens on Wayland.

Discover has similar problems on Wayland while shows the spinner after a search.
Can you reproduce while "Desaturate unresponsive applications" effect is disabled in Desktop Effects kcm?

Yes I can, with both Elisa and Discover.

I don't have this issue anymore. Elisa 20.11.90, Qt 5.15.2 and everything else up to date.
