Created attachment 125954 [details] Broken font rendering in Thunderbird where lower parts of long letters are cut. SUMMARY Since the new automated GTK Theme / Font adoption, those are no longer displayed correctly in GTK applications like Thunderbird. This has been already introduced with the latest release of the 5.17 series. But there I was able to workaround by manually changing the fonts for GTK application to match the ones used in KDE (Which is Noto Sans 10 in my case). Now, as I am not able to change the font settings anymore, Thunderbird cuts the lower part of the letters like ‘g’ or ‘y’ in message lists and unveils them when you hover an entry with the mouse, which leads to continuous screen flickering
Cannot reproduce with Thunderbird using the Breeze GTK theme and Ubuntu 11 font. Are you using the Breeze gtk theme, or Adwaita, or another GTK theme?
I am using Breeze GTK. The issue goes away when I change something like 'force dpi value' in the general font settings, hit apply and change it back to the defaults afterwards.
Thanks. Seems like something weird with how the GTK theme handles fonts.
Cannot reproduce in Plasma 5.23 with the latest Thunderbird. Can you?
