STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open either Gparted, Firefox, or Inkscape 2. Notice that the app's menu is not displayed on the top menubar 3. Are these applications using GTK3 for the menus?
yes, I think they are using GTK3
Do you have a process 'gmenudbusmenuproxy' running? Check with Ctrl+Esc.
yes, that process is running but gimp doesnt put its menu on the global menubar
I found the solution: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=238072 Turns out I didn't have these packages installed, thus it wouldnt work
