Description Gaël de Chalendar (aka Kleag) 2020-01-31 08:41:48 UTC
SUMMARY
At work, I use two external screens connected to a dock and keep the lid of my laptop closed. When I reconnect it, external screens configuration is always lost and must be set again.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Connect two screens and a laptop to a dock
2. Prepare the screen configuration you like
3. Disconnect the laptop and come back later
4. Go to Step 2 and repeat

OBSERVED RESULT
Configuration is not saved

EXPECTED RESULT
Configuration should be saved.

As screens are identified individually, I think that several configurations could be saved and the most appropriate one automatically selected or at least proposed.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Neon
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.17.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.66.0
Qt Version: 5.13.2

In fact you can do this. On System Settings' Display Configuration page, you want to use the setting for "Save displays' properties: For only this specific display arrangement"
