SUMMARY Frequently I want to do some basic editing with a just taken screenshot (to highlight something with an arrow, a circle, a rectangle, for example). In this case, I open the screenshot with a photo editor via "Export" button and then Spectacle becomes irrelevant because I will only use my photo editor to edit the screenshot and after that most likely I will not use Spectacle anymore. But Spectacle window remains open after I use its "Export" feature and I need an extra step to close it manually. I think that an option to auto-close Spectacle after we export a screenshot would nice.
I often find myself thinking the same thing. Maybe we could just extend the existing option for that?
If you launch Spectacle from dbus / krunner using its actions like "Capture fullscreen", spectacle launches in background mode, meaning it will only show a notification at the end of the screenshot, allowing you to open/export it from the notification. You can achieve the same from command line with --background option, for instance `spectacle --background --region`.
Is this still relevant now that we have annotation tools in Spectacle itself?
I still think this feature is relevant. Currently Spectacle remains unnecessarily open after 'Export > Share > Imgur' or 'Export > Share > Send via Email...' and there is no way to change this behavior.
OK.
