Description Teo 2020-01-21 09:49:56 UTC
SUMMARY
If I try to move an item the popup with the various options (move here, copy here, insert item here, etc.) doesn't show any more after upgrading Fedora from 29 to 31 via dnf upgrade.
So now it is impossible to move item around with drag and drop. Ctrl-v Ctrl-c works fine.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled digikam with all its dependencies, but nothing changed

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Select one or more photos
2. drag and drop to another position in the same album (in manual sort mode) or to another album
3. Nothing happens

OBSERVED RESULT
Items don't move

EXPECTED RESULT
Move item between albums or inside the album

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows:
macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora 31
(available in About System)
KDE Frameworks 5.64.0

Please check if the problem exists with official digiKAm Linux AppImage 6.4.0.

If no, the problem come from your system: report to Feodora team as DOWNSTREAM

Do you use Wayland? Then the problem with Qt5 is well known with Fedora.

Maik,

For information, the Linux AppImage based on Qt 5.14 do not provide a platform plugin for wayland. This one is not compiled in fact.

I need to add dependencies to compile the wayland plugin. It's on my TODO list.

So, if the current AppImage as dysfunctions with a wayland based Linux host, it's normal (outside the fact that Qt 5 can have bug about wayland support).

This thread is interesting, it looks like a bug in Gnome.
