Created attachment 125256 [details] Two Bugs SUMMARY I'd say to get two bugs in one recording in under a minute is pretty impressive! First Bug is a replay issue with the animation play button when two different window files are both playing at once. The other is a visual obscurity, where one layer/frame that shouldn't be visible and isn't visible until I play an animation. (details on Bugs here VVV) https://telegra.ph/Krita-Bug-x2-01-20 SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: MS Windows
Thank you for your report. We do have a manual about reporting bugs here: https://docs.krita.org/en/untranslatable_pages/reporting_bugs.html In general: * make sure the subject mentions the issue you are reporting * do not report more than one issue per bug report * be very clear about how to reproduce the bug I have renamed your report to reflect the first issue you mentioned. It is not a major issue, since there are very few people who want to play the same animation in two windows. I have not tried to reproduce it yet. The second issue is not clear to me. Please provide a test file and a set of steps that will help understand and reproduce the issue.
I'm sure the play/pause button problem with two subwindows has been reported before but I can't find it in the bug reports. The second problem sounds similar to these: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397213 and https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=415367 (The second one is probably a different aspect of the first one so I should tidy that up.) They particularly affect small animated images with little content change between frames - e.g sprite artwork. Are you using Linux? They don't seem to happen on Windows. If you turn off graphics acceleration (and restart krita) does the problem stop? If you set the animation cache to be In Memory instead of On Disk (and restart krita), does the problem stop? If so, it seems to be already reported. If not then it's a different bug and needs a new bug report for it.
(In reply to Boudewijn Rempt from comment #1) oh sorry! Will do in the future. Keep up the good work! (This left brain activity is a bit intimidating, but I'll do my best to properly decipher what I can.) If by test file you are referring to the Krita file I animated, it took me a while to figure it out, but I figured I could get it to you through google docs: https://drive.google.com/file/d/152g50FkjOerPcMPXD9mGec0wjZLAx9_h/view?usp=sharing Hopefully that file's right, and it should access to it, but if it doesn't please notify me. Clarification for second issue: https://telegra.ph/Krita-Bug-x2-01-20 I just re-edited my post so it still says the 20th. If this also fails as a bug report I might just not be cut out for this haha.. Also everyone's patience is greatly appreciated! I hope the vanquishing of bugs have gone well on everyone's end.
Thanks for your comment! Automatically switching the status of this bug to REPORTED so that the KDE team knows that the bug is ready to get confirmed. In the future you may also do this yourself when providing needed information.
Marking this as resolved for now. Krita currently plays the animation back only in the active subwindow, which is consistent with our current design. If you find that this bug isn't resolved and that I missed something, please change the status back to REPORTED. =] Adding the ability to add simultaneous playback in multiple subwindows is something niche/minor for the wishlist. Thanks for the reports, Rose. - Emmet
