Created attachment 125134 [details] Example of caret appearing next to Back/Forward buttons. SUMMARY The Back/Forward buttons in Dolphin's toolbar have a downward caret to the right of their icon (see screenshot). No other toolbar buttons appear to have this behavior. I've tried changing icon themes, changing the toolbar's orientation (vertical/horizontal), and changing the text position (Icons only, Icons + Text, Text only), but the caret always appears. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Dolphin 2. Make sure toolbar is visible & contains Back/Forward buttons (Settings > Show Toolbar) 3. Notice the downward caret next to each button's icon OBSERVED RESULT Caret next to Back/Forward icons EXPECTED RESULT No caret or option to hide caret SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE neon 5.17 User Edition (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.17.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.66.0 Qt Version: 5.13.2
Yes we have gotten quite a few complaints that the arrows are ugly. In Plasma 5.18, the arrows are much smaller and so not cause the button to change in size. Hopefully this will feel better. If we still get complaints about that, we plan to remove them entirely.
I am already running the improved version, and can confirm the arrows are barely noticeable. But I think it makes sense to keep them to let users know there is a pop-down menu hidden there.
