Description Peter 2020-01-10 12:45:05 UTC
SUMMARY
Most modern software can remember their state after a restart. And it is incredibly convenient!
I think it's time to introduce such functionality in Dolphin.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open tabs.
2. Close Dolphin.
3. Open Dolphin.

OBSERVED RESULT
The standard folder opens "~/"

EXPECTED RESULT
Necessary:
- Have the setting "remember previously opened tabs".
- If this setting is true, then when restarting, restore previously opened tabs.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: -
macOS: -
Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE neon 5.17
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.17.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.65.0
Qt Version: 5.13.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
If you are a laptop user or often restart your PC, then recovering previously opened tabs in Dolphin takes a lot of time.

Luckily, Nate is working on this and if everything goes well, this feature should land with 20.04 (see https://phabricator.kde.org/D11382). Will close this report for another identical but older one.
