SUMMARY Baloo search + Dolphin do not perform primitive search tasks. In fact, when I need to find something for sure, I have to use third-party solutions, such as KFind. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Dolphin. 2. Select a standard search. 3. Try to find the file in the hidden folder ".*DirName*" or the hidden file ".*FileName*". OBSERVED RESULT Dolphin search or "search bar" (Alt+Space) cannot find hidden files and folders. EXPECTED RESULT Adding settings to system parameters. So that the user can select the type of search he needs. An old one that searches only visible files. Or a search that searches for all files. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: - macOS: - Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE neon 5.17 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.17.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.65.0 Qt Version: 5.13.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This problem has already celebrated its fifth anniversary and will probably be celebrating its tenth anniversary soon =)
Got to System Settings -> Search, select "index hidden".
(In reply to Stefan Brüns from comment #1) > Got to System Settings -> Search, select "index hidden". Unfortunately, this setting is not. The interface is in another language, but I tried to translate all the necessary points. https://youtu.be/HXcAR-oJ-nU
