SUMMARY
Sometimes Kicker menu have partial transparency (as if one part of menu is transparent and other is not). This usually happens only shortly after Plasma startup.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Launch Plasma
2. Open applications menu
3. Open various sub-menus

OBSERVED RESULT
Sometimes sub-menus have this weird partial transparency.

EXPECTED RESULT
Menus should be rendered correctly.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora 31
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.17.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.65.0
Qt Version: 5.12.5

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
My GPU is AMD Radeon RX 580, Mesa 20 from mesa-aco Copr (https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/xxmitsu/mesa-aco/). I, however, have also witnessed this bug on older Mesa versions too, on Ubuntu 18.04 (KDE Neon) with Intel integrated graphics.
Comment 1 equeim 2020-02-20 08:42:39 UTC
I can still reproduce it with Plasma 5.18.1 and Qt 5.14.1 on both X11 and Wayland, with Radeon and Intel graphics.

The same happens with me, it's annoying especially when moving mouse very fast over menu root items.

Can you reproduce this issue in any other Plasma pop-ups? For example, notifications, Kickoff, the System Tray, or KRunner?

krunner

I'm able to reproduce a similar problem in krunner almost every time with this steps:
1. open Global Theme and switch from Breeze to Breeze Dark (or viceversa), click apply.
2. click on the desktop to lose focus then press any keyboard letter to call krunner.
The suggestions have a transparent background.
This happens only the first time krunner suggestions appear.

Is this still happening in a recent version of Plasma, like 6.2.5 or later?

For me with Intel iGPUs, this problem doesn't happen anymore.

I tried neon-testing-20250128-0430.iso and the transparency problem no longer occurs to me either.

But sometimes (rarely) the submenus is too large or too small for the items contained.
I don't know if this is a known issue..
