There's a fancy Plasma Integration addon [1] for the Firefox, but none for Thunderbird. However, it'd be really convenient to have a such here too, for the following purposes: * Automatically remove a notification about a new unread mail, if the mail was clicked in TB * By clicking on the notification, open Thunderbird and go to the mail directly * Maybe more. None of the suggested features are possible with Thunderbird's WebMail extension API. The only feature that I managed to implement is boarding pass extraction (main focus of this project) and finding contacts and mails in KRunner (and even that doesn't really work well with the API Thunderbird provides) The notifications should just be fixed in Thunderbird directly...

I've been using systray-x (https://github.com/Ximi1970/systray-x) for a long time and it's the best experience you can have with thunderbird on plasma. it has a KDE exclusive function where it is possible to hide the systray icon when there is no new email
Oh, why has this been closed, David? Do you think it will never be fixed on Thunderbird's site?
I understand that you need to triage bugs, but if you close them, please give at least a little bit reasoning (if appropriate like here IMHO).

Even wishlists tasks should describe a very specific bug that isn't being met by the current software but is expected.
