We always added a fixed value of 70 pixels in all directions for the thumbnail. This is fine for big images with big faces. With small faces, too much environment is shown. I have now changed this and we are using 10% of the longest side of the face rectangle as the value. Although this will now add new thumbnails to the database, it might be a good idea to start with digiKam-7.0.0 with an empty thumbnail DB. Maik
