SUMMARY
system tray does not save settings for what to show and not show. (it is reset upon every latte start) also getting a message about latte not closing correctly. 
Also, opening panel settings will put me in edit mode for the panel and I can't exit.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open latte
2. Open panel settings
3. will go into edit mode and cannot exit
4. open system tray settings
5. customize settings to your liking
6. close latte dock with task manager sending end signal or reboot
7. get a message about latte not closing correctly
8. system tray settings are gone

OBSERVED RESULT
panel edit mode does not exit when exiting panel settings

system tray settings do not persist 

error about latte not closing correctly regardless if it was close by a reboot shutdown, logout, or end signal 

EXPECTED RESULT

system tray settings persist 

exit edit mode when I close panel settings

no error on startup

1. Your editing mode issue is fixed with Latte 0.9.6
2. Your systray issue probably occurred from a crash, the systray settings were lost and its half default settings also. You can try to remove it/restart Latte/and add a new one
3. If [2] does not fix your systray issue then you can send your latte layout file to check it out, I believe I can fix it for you without losing your other applets settings

thanks for the reply. yup 0.9.6 fixed the issue, unfortunately, it's not in manjaro stable yet so I'm using the aur git package for now and I'll probably just ignore all update to the git and then update to 0.9.6 when it hits manjaro stable

got the system tray setting to save again and I no longer get that error message on start I just deleted all of my layouts except the one I'm using so I removed default and plasma. thanks again for your help
